BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin softball teams suffered a 5-0 loss to Trinity to open the series on Friday afternoon.
The Polar Bears fall to 8-10 (0-4 NESCAC), as the Bantams remain perfect in conference play (11-6, 4-0 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- The teams were scoreless through two full innings, but the Bantams went ahead 1-0 in the top of the third. Gianna Titp tripled to right center and plated Taylor Mikolajczak.
- Trinity added a single run in each of the following innings, to take the 5-0 win. Maura Keary had an RBI groundout in the fourth.
- Kennedy Rogers and Michaela Russell each had RBI doubles and Tiffany Stowers hit an RBI single.
By the Numbers
- JK Bradley went 2-for-3 for the Polar Bears.
- Russel and Tito were both 2-for-4 for Trinity.
- Kyla Gary had a stolen base.
- Jordan Stephan pitched all seven innings to earn the win and struck out five, while allowing seven hits.
- Anna Halliday suffered the loss, allowing eight hits and three earned runs with five strikeouts.
