Men’s Lacrosse Never Trails, Cruises to Mid-Week Win at Bates

LEWISTON, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team improved to 10-0 for just the third time in program history, rolling to a 16-11 win at Bates on Wednesday night. The seventh-ranked Polar Bears stand at 10-0 (6-0 NESCAC) with the win, joining the 1973 and '89 teams for the best start to a season in program history. The Bobcats remain winless at 0-9 (0-6 NESCAC) this year. 

Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin took command from the start and never trailed, jumping to a 3-0 lead out of the gate on goals by Oliver Bernstein, Avery Kirby and Liam Ford
  • The Polar Bears led 6-2 after the first period and continued to roll in the second, Extending their lead to 10-3 at the break on Patrick Fitzgerald's goal with 2:12 before intermission. 
  • The Polar Bears were never challenged in the second half, leading by as many as nine goals before three late goals by the Bobcats trimmed the final margin to five.
