Softball Splits Series With Husson on Sunday

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin softball team split its Sunday series with Husson, dropping a close 3-2 game and rebounding with a 4-2 victory.
 
The Polar Bears are 14-16, as the Eagles sit at 22-8.
 
Game One Highlights
  • Husson went up 3-0, scoring a run in the second, third, and fourth innings.
  • Katryna Dukehart plated Angelina Mayers in the fourth to make it 3-1 off a single to center.
  • Dukehart blasted a homerun to left center in the sixth to pull Bowdoin within one.
  • Lilly Armstrong went 3-for-3 and had two stolen bases. Dukehart was 2-for-2 with two RBI.
  • Abby Allen allowed six hits and one earned run. Anna Halliday allowed two hits and one run. Halliday fanned six batters.
 
Game Two Highlights
  • Bowdoin jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Mayers hit a two-run double to left center and later scored on a wild pitch.
  • Armstrong drove in another run in the second, singling to right.
  • The Eagles chipped away at Bowdoin's lead with runs in the fourth and sixth innings.
  • Shea Sullivan pitched 5.1 innings and allowed seven hits with one earned run. Halliday pitched the remainder of the game without allowing a hit. Both pitchers struck out three.
  • Mayers went 2-for-3 with the double and two RBI. Armstrong added another stolen base.
