Thomas Tops Polar Bears in Tuesday Evening Matchup

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin baseball team suffered a 4-1 loss to Thomas College on Tuesday evening.
 
The Polar Bears drop to 8-13 on the season as the Terriers climb to 7-18.
 
Game Highlights
  • Thomas took the lead with a pair of RBI singles in the first inning.
  • Aaron Young had his second RBI single of the day, driving in another run in the third inning.
  • Thomas scored its fourth and final run in the fifth, again off a single.
  • Bowdoin's lone run came in the bottom of the eighth. Gavin Cann hit a one-out double and moved to third on Robbie Sarmanian's sacrifice fly to right.
  • Kevin Murray walked and the final pitch skipped past the catcher, allowing Cann to score.
 
By the Numbers
  • Baker Olin started for the Polar Bears and allowed three hits and three runs with one strikeout in two innings of work.
  • Connor Cassady and CJ Brito-Trinidad each pitched two innings with a pair of strikeouts.
  • Gavin Cann closed out the game with three innings of work and four strikeouts with one hit.
  • Cann was the only Bowdoin batter with multiple hits, going 2-for-4.
