Men's Lacrosse Dominates Endicott in Non-Conference Win

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team rolled to its second straight win to the open the season, dominating from start to finish in a snowy, 19-5 win at Endicott on Wednesday evening.
 
The Polar Bears improve to 2-0 while the Gulls fall to 0-3.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin scored the first three goals of the contest and opened up a commanding 7-2 lead after one quarter of play in a hot start against the Gulls.
  • Donal Mullane had two goals and an assist in the early going to spark the run.
  • The Polar Bears took compete control in the second period as three straight goals by Will Byrne keyed a 4-0 run to close the half and boost Bowdoin's edge to 13-4 at the break.
  • Bowdoin continued to roll in the second half, as Jason Lach scored five of the Polar Bears' six goals in the final 30 minutes as the defense permitted just a single goal over the final 34:19 of the contest.
By The Numbers
  • Bowdoin's Robert Hobbs made ten saves and allowed five goals in 52:25 of play before being relieved by Jake Phillips in the final 7:35. The five goals allowed are the least by the Polar Bears since holding Montclair to five goals in April of 2018.
  • Jason Lach outscored Endicott by himself, finishing with six goals on the day on seven shots.
  • Will Byrne ended with five goals while Donal Mullane scored three with two assists.
  • Matt Ward (two goals, assist) and Patrick Fitzgerald (two goals, two assists) both had multi-point nights for Bowdoin.
  • Ethan Barnard had another big day on the dot, winning 15 of 20 faceoffs for the Polar Bears while Peter Kenerson had two caused turnovers and four groundballs.
