LEESBURG, Fla. – The Bowdoin softball team picked up a pair of Monday wins over Centre College and Gustavus Adolphus.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 3-5 on the season after downing Centre 6-2, and Gustavus Adolphus 16-14.
 
Centre Game Highlights

• Bowdoin took a 2-0 lead in the third inning as strategic base running by Kyla Gary and Ella Jones capitalized on errors.
• Jones plated a run in the following inning with an RBI single to center.
• Gary laid down a bunt in the fourth and drove in Zoe Stilphen to make it 4-0.
• Kasey Cunningham forced another Centre fielding error and pushed Jones across the plate.
• Stilphen recorded an RBI double to left center that drove in Bowdoin's final run of the game in the fifth.
• Centre got a pair of runs back as they scored in the fifth and sixth innings.

 
Gustavus Adolphus Game Highlights

• Bowdoin held a substantial lead until the top of the fifth inning when Gustavus squeaked ahead 10-9.
• Bowdoin responded with seven runs between the fifth and sixth innings and the Gusties couldn't complete the rally in the seventh. The Gusties did plate four runs in their final at-bat to come within two.
• Every Bowdoin batter had at least one hit. Lilly Armstrong went 3-for-4 and Caroline Sablone was 3-for-5.
• Armstrong and Cunningham each scored four runs, while JK Bradley led the team with four RBI. Sydney Lang drove in three runs. Both Bradley and Lang had a double.
• Anna Halliday and Kiera Dent combined to allow just six earned runs.
