Softball Extends Win Streak With Offensive Explosion on Wednesday

CLERMONT, Fla. – The Bowdoin softball team extended its win streak to four with a two-win Tuesday over Lawrence University and Elmhurst University.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 5-5 on the year with a 10-0 win over Lawrence an 8-3 win over Elmhurst University.
 
Lawrence Game Highlights
  • All of Bowdoin's offense came in the second inning.
  • Shea Sullivan hit a bases-loaded, bases-clearing triple to put the Polar Bears up 3-0.
  • Karyle Pallotta added a two-run triple to and JK Bradley had an RBI single.
  • Katryna Dukehart added another three-run triple and Sydney Lang plated Dukehart with a double.
  • Anna Halliday earned the win in the circle, striking out six in the three-hit shutout.
 
Elmhurst Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin's bats stayed hot with three hits to begin the game. With runners on first and second, Lilly Armstrong doubled to center and drove in Pallotta.
  • Later in the inning, with the bases loaded, Angelina Mayer was hit by a pitch and pushed Kasey Cunningham across the plate. Dukehart added a sacrifice fly to center.
  • Pallotta had a two-run double to center in the third and eventually scored on a single by Armstrong.
  • Elmhurst produced three runs in the fifth, but Bowdoin matched them with three more in the seventh.
  • With the bases loaded, Pallotta hit a fly ball to left that drove in a run.
  • Armstrong had another two RBI, this time singling to center, to conclude the game's scoring.
  • Kiera Dent pitched 6.1 innings and allowed eight hits and three runs. Shea Sullivan pitched the final two outs.
  • Pallotta was 2-for-5 at the plate, while Dukehart and Cunningham were both 2-for-4. Armstrong paced the team going 3-for-4 with four RBI.
