WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team dominated 13
th-ranked Catholic in an impressive 20-13 road win on Wednesday afternoon. The Polar Bears, who are ranked 20
th in the latest IWLCA Division III poll, improve to 2-2 on the season with the win.
Game Highlights
- The Polar Bears never trailed on Wednesday, scoring the first two goals of the game and owning a 5-3 edge at the end of the first quarter thanks to a pair of goals by Colleen McAloon in the first quarter.
- Bowdoin erupted for nine goals in the decisive second quarter, as six different players scored. McAloon's goal with 1:31 left before halftime gave the visitors a commanding 14-6 edge at the break.
- The Polar Bears pushed the game into running time midway through the third quarter and led 19-8 entering the fourth quarter as they cruised to the win.
By The Numbers
- Fiona Bundy was outstanding, scoring six goals with an assist while Colleen McAloon added five goals herself. Bundy also had seven draw controls and three groundballs.
- Sophia Sudano also netted five goals with two groundballs. Emelia Krakora scored two goals with one assist and three draws in the win.
- Izzy Cisneros played 15 minutes in goal for Bowdoin, stopping three shots, while Sophia Brett (21:29, four saves) and Sophia Rutman (23:31, six saves) finished off the win for the Polar Bears.
