Mammoths Earn Shutout Victory Over Women's Hockey

AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst women's ice hockey team earned a 3-0 shutout over Bowdoin on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears sit at 9-7-1 (5-6-1 NESCAC). The Mammoths climb to 9-7-1 (6-5-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Rylee Glennon scored the game's first goal at 10:50 in the second, on the power play. Avery Flynn took a shot from the blueline and missed wide left, but the puck bounced to Angelina Wiater. Wiater fed Glennon at the bottom of the near face-off circle for a wrister past Dani Marquez.
  • Just 62 seconds later, Amherst went ahead 2-0. Wiater won a face-off on the right dot and kicked the puck back. After sustained control by the Mammoths, Glennon found Alyssa Xu for a redirect into the bottom right corner of the goal.
  • Amherst had an empty-netter with 1:50 remaining in the game.
