Women's Hockey Falls To Trinity on Friday Night

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team suffered a 3-1 series opening setback to Trinity on Friday evening.
 
The Polar Bears (9-8-1, 5-7-1 NESCAC) drop their second game in a row and look to rebound on Saturday. The Bantams (8-10-1, 4-8-0 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin went ahead 1-0 just 4:14 into the game. Ali Dougal had the puck on the right side and fed Allie Britt in the slot. Britt quickly transferred the puck left to Gia Massari who wristed a shot before Hannah Leclair could slide across the crease.
  • On a power play in the final minute of the first period, Martina Exnerova evened the score. Exnerova took a mid-range shot that slid under Dani Marquez's pad before she could drop to the ice.
  • Trinity took the lead on a power play tally eight minutes into the third. Olive Scull passed the puck from the half boards to Anne Levia on the right point. Levia went far post where Angelica Mushenko put it in net.
  • Ellie Fellows wrapped the game with a buzzer beating empty-netter from the Trinity zone.

  • Both teams spent significant time in the penalty box.
  • Trinity went 2-for-9 on the power play.
  • Bowdoin was 0-for-6 on the power play.
  • Marquez made 23 saves.
  • Leclair stopped 11 shots.
