Women's Hockey Earns Senior Day Shutout Over Trinity

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team earned a 1-0 Senior Day shutout over Trinity on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears force the series split and sit at 10-8-1 (6-7-1 NESCAC). The Bantams are 8-11-1 (4-9-0 NESCAC).

Game Highlights
  • Midway through the first period, Bowdoin went ahead 1-0. Elsa Cassidy intercepted the puck in front of Bowdoin's bench and skated into Trinity territory. Cassidy ended up on the low outside edge of the faceoff circle and backhanded a pass to Angelina Joyce on the near point. Joyce wristed a shot that skipped across the ice and tucked inside the far post.
  • Hannah Leclair kept the Bantams competitive in the second period, making multiple saves in one-on-goal situations. Leclair stood tall against an Izzi Stoddard breakaway three minutes in, denying the puck at the left post with a skate. Angelina Joyce put together several point-blank shots in a flurry of chances, but again Leclair stood tall.
