Kay's Seven Three-Pointers Propels Women's Hoops Over Hamilton

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team dominated from start-to-finish in their most impressive win of the season, a 78-41 win over Hamilton on Saturday afternoon in Morrell Gymnasium. The Polar Bears improve to 16-4 (5-2 NESCAC) on the season while the Continentals fall to 9-11 (2-6 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • The Polar Bears took control of the game from the outset, shooting 57% from the field in the first quarter and sprinting to a 24-4 lead after seven minutes.
  • Bowdoin carried a 29-11 lead into the second quarter and built their lead to 44-22 at intermission.
  • The Polar Bears continued to roll in the third quarter, outscoring Hamilton 24-11 to stymie all thoughts of a comeback.
  • Bowdoin led by as many as 41 points in the fourth quarter en route to the victory.

  • Sela Kay tied her own school record with seven three-pointers in the win, finishing with 29 points.
  • Sydney Jones had 17 points while Jess Giorgio and Callie Godfrey contributed to a balanced Bowdoin attack with eight points.
  • Megan Tan paced Bowdoin with eight assists while Girogio had a team-high seven boards.
  • Bowdoin finished at 46% shooting for the game and connected on 11 three-pointers. Hamilton went just 1-18 from long distance in the loss.
