Kagitomi's Game-Winner Lifts Men's Hoops Over Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. – Taiga Kagitomi hit the game-winning shot with 12 seconds remaining to give the Bowdoin College men's basketball team a bit 59-58 win at Hamilton on Saturday afternoon. The win moves Bowdoin to 11-9 (3-6 NESCAC) while Hamilton falls to 12-10 (4-4 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • In a defensive struggle, neither team could gain control as the lead was exchanged 14 times with 11 tie scores over the course of the contest.
  • Hamilton carried a 32-29 lead into halftime, but Bowdoin used a quick surge out of the break to tie the contest at 33 apiece.
  • With the game tied at 54 with under a minute to play, Hamilton scored the next four points to take a 58-54 edge with 20 seconds to play.
  • Following a clutch three-pointer by James McGowan with 14 seconds on the clock, Hamilton immediately turned the ball over on the inbounds play, setting up Bowdoin's final possession.
