WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin men's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2022 NESCAC Championship meet and earned a sixth place finish.
The Polar Bears comfortably outpaced seventh place Colby by nearly 100 points. Bowdoin ended the meet with 972.5 and narrowly slipped below fifth place Bates.
Alex Grand'Pierre was named NESCAC Rookie of the Year at the conclusion of the meet. Senior
Henry Isaacson was named Senior High Point Diver.
Saturday Meet Highlights
- Bowdoin again opened the finals with another school record breaking relay. Ted Mebust, Alex Grand'Pierre, John Soeder, and Tyler Meritt combined for a time of 1:29.26 and a second place finish.
- Justin Yang set a new school mark in the 400 IM and finished sixth on the podium with a time of 3:58.94 in the prelims and 4:05.14 in the final. Liam Roeher joined Yang in the championship final and finished eighth.
- Grand'Pierre continued his outstanding first-year campaign with another new record in the 100 breaststroke and a second place finish overall (53.92).
Sunday Meet Highlights
- Yang earned a third place finish and school record in the 200 backstroke (1:48.40).
- Grand'Pierre touched second in the 200 breaststroke (1:59.27) to round out his first NESCAC Championships with a slew of podium finishes.
- On the 3 meter diving board, Henry Isaacson captured fourth place with a final score of 433.75.
- Bowdoin's final relay of the meet, the 400 free, earned a fourth place finish with a time of 3:01.19. Penn Lee, Grand'Pierre, Steve Ward, and Mebust combined for the finale.

- The NCAA Championship is March 16-19 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Bowdoin swimmers will wait for official qualifiers to be announced at a later date.
