Men's Hockey Scores Five Third Period Goals to Capture Win Over Camels

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team scored four unanswered goals in the third period to come from behind and earn a 5-3 victory over Connecticut College.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 7-9-4 (7-7-3 NESCAC). The Camels drop to 5-13-3 (4-11-2 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • The Camels took a 1-0 lead 2:48 into the middle frame. Chris Adamsons looked to make a centering pass and deflected the puck off a defender's skate and to the stick of Eric Fournier. Fournier slid in from the left point and snuck a puck through.
  • Sean Detloff created his own opportunity midway through the period. Detloff bodied down a puck off an attempted Bowdoin clear and took it to the left halfboards. From a low angle, Detloff capitalized on a screen and put a shot past Alex Kozic.
  • Bowdoin made it 2-1 4:07 into the third. Ean Small collected a rebound off a skate, coming down the slot, and put Bowdoin on the board.
  • Less than 30 seconds later, the Camels extended their lead back to two. Win Winship backhanded a pass to Seth Stadheim in the center for another goal.
  • Luke Wheeler pulled Bowdoin within one again, two minutes later. Patrick Callahan took a shot from the right dot and Wheeler put away the rebound.
  • Callahan made a solo effort midway through the period to even the game at 3-3. Callahan intercepted the puck off a defender a fired a shot from between the circles.
  • Cam Berube gave the Polar Bears their first lead of the game two minutes later. Ean Small won the faceoff on the right side and kicked the puck inside to Albert Washco. Washco sent the puck back to the right point for Berube who wristed a clean shot into the net.
  • Callahan set up the team's final goal with 34 seconds remaining in the game, putting a hard shot on pads. Chris Brown cleaned up the rebound to put the game away.

  • Bowdoin went 1-for-3 on the power play.
  • The Camels were 0-for-2 on the power play.
  • Sean Dynan made 18 stops for Connecticut College.
  • Kozic made 18 saves for the win.
