LANSING, Mich. – Four members of the Bowdoin cross country teams competed at the NCAA Division III Championship Saturday at Forest Akers East Golf Course in Michigan. In snowy and blustery conditions, Leila Trummel, Stephanie Chun, Will Goddard and Brooks Peters raced in fields of nearly 300 runners to cap their fantastic fall campaigns.

Trummel, Bowdoin's lone returner from last year's NCAA qualifying squad, improved her finish by 16 positions to take 78th at this year's championship in a time of 23:13.2. Sitting in 97th place after two miles of the 6K race, she made a late push to rise 19 positions in the final half of the race to take 78th overall. Chun took 274th overall in the field in a time of 25:06.7 in her NCAA debut, rising eight positions in the final 1000 meters.

In the men's 8K Will Goddard took 152nd spot in a time of 26:20.9, rising nearly 30 positions from his placement following the first two miles of the race. Brooks Peters took 250th in a time of 27:08.6, passing six runners in a late push. Both athletes were making their NCAA Championship debut.
