Field Hockey Falls 3-1 at Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin field hockey team surrendered a pair of fourth quarter goals and fell 3-1 to Amherst on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears return to Brunswick with a 7-4 (2-4 NESCAC) record. The Mammoths are 9-2 (6-2 NESCAC) and came away with a two-win weekend.
 
Game Highlights
  • The Mammoths took the lead with just over five minutes remaining in the first half of action. Muffie Mazambani recorded the tally with an assist from Kat Mason
  • Bowdoin responded less than a minute later with an equalizer off a penalty corner. Georgie Coetzer fired a shot and Maya Malenfant got a tip to deflect the ball and make the score 1-1.
  • Amherst scored two goals in the fourth quarter, both coming within a two minute span.
