Women's Soccer Scores Second Half Equalizer to Tie Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bowdoin women's soccer team earned a 1-1 tie against host Trinity on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears (7-2-1, 2-2-1 NESCAC) scored in the second half to force the tie with Trinity (5-0-6, 3-0-4 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Trinity took the lead in the 36th minute. Mia Fusco sent a centering pass from the right corner to Alyssa Keane in the middle. Keane buried a shot from left center.
  • The Polar Bears came into the second half and earned a pair of quick corner kicks and Samaya Bernardo put a header just over the crossbar.
  • Bernardo scored the equalizer for Bowdoin in the 52nd minute. Off a Trinity foul, Bernardo carried down the field and through the defense before taking it to goal.
  • Bowdoin took a pair of quick shots in the final two minutes, but both Rylie McLaren's shots were saved.

  • Bowdoin held a 19-10 edge in shots and 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
  • Alex Arndt made six saves for Bowdoin.
  • Mariana Cournoyer made ten saves for Trinity.
