Cross Country Teams Compete at NESCAC Championships at Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Bowdoin College women's cross country team finished seventh while the men's team finished eighth at the New England Small College Athletic Conference championship meest Saturday at Hamilton College.

Women's Meet Highlights
  • The Polar Bears scored 177 points to improve their team ranking from one spot a year ago at NESCAC's, defeating Middlebury (181) and ending just behind Wesleyan (168).
  • Leila Trummel led the way for the Polar Bears with a stellar sixth-place finish to earn All-NESCAC honors in 21:57.7, moving up from tenth place in the final mile and posting a career-best time. 
  • Stephanie Chun improved her placement from 20 spots in last year's event, taking 20th individually in 22:31.2.
  • Lauren Traum (47th, 23:27.9) and Lex Davis (48th, 23:30.8) were excellent in their NESCAC debuts as Claire Wyman rounded out the Polar Bear scorers in 56th in 23:45.1
 
Men's Meet Highlights
  • The Polar Bears finished with 201 points, edging out Trinity (228) for eighth and improving one spot from last year's result.
  • Will Goddard ran a strong race in his NESCAC Championships debut, placing 21st overall in 24:55.6, followed closely by Sam Angevine in 23rd at 25:02.1.
  • Brooks Peters broke out as Bowdoin's third finisher, taking 31st in 25:21.6.
  • Ben Bockmann (60th, 26:12.7) and Ashton Dunlap (66th, 26:42.9) rounded out the Bowdoin scorers.
