Women's Hoops Rebounds With Dominating Win Over Connecticut College

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team found its offensive stride and dominated the last three quarters of a 77-35 win over a shorthanded Connecticut College team on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears move to 11-3 (1-1 NESCAC) while the Camels, who had only seven players dressed for the contest, fall to 2-11 (0-2 NESCAC). 

Game Highlights
  • The Camels came out hot, jumping to a 13-4 lead out of the gate thanks to eight early points from Audrey Shaev.
  • The Polar Bears answered with a 8-2 run to end the quarter, closing to within three points, 15-12, entering the second period.
  • Bowdoin took the lead for good in the second, holding Conn to 2-12 shooting from the floor and outscoring the visitors 18-5 to lead 30-20 at intermission.
  • The Polar Bears put the game on ice with a 29-point third quarter that included six three-pointers, including four from Sela Kay
By The Numbers
  • Tori Beck racked up a career-high 17 points, including 5-8 from long distance, off the bench to help get the Polar Bear offense on track. Beck also had six rebounds and four assists in the win.
  • Sela Kay led all players with 18 points while Annie Boasberg also had 12 points as Bowdoin shot 42% for the game and 40% (12-30) from three-point range.
  • After their hot start, the Camels struggled offensively to finish at 20% shooting for the game as Bowdoin also held a commanding 57-36 edge in rebounding, scoring 16 second chance points and 23 points off 15 Camel turnovers.
