Women's Basketball Bounces Williams in NESCAC Road Win

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Sela Kay scored 18 points in the second half and Annie Boasberg posted a double-double to lead the Bowdoin College women's basketball team in a 63-51 win at Williams on Friday evening. The Polar Bears improve to 12-3 (2-1 NESCAC) while the Ephs drop to 6-8 (1-2 NESCAC). 

Game Highlights
  • The game was tight throughout the opening half as both teams struggled to find their offensive footing.
  • Williams clung to a slim 21-18 edge at the half and pushed their advantage to seven points, 29-22, with six minutes left in the third quarter.
  • Bowdoin replied by scoring 41 points over the final 16 minutes of play, regaining the lead thanks to consecutive three-pointers from Kay and Boasberg late in the period to carry a 37-33 edge into the fourth. 
  • The Polar Bears continued to roll, quickly rolling off a 9-2 run to start the final quarter and holding a comfortable lead for the remainder of the contest. 
By The Numbers
  • After a cold start, Bowdoin improved to shoot 42% in the second half, including 6-11 from three-point range to surge to the win. 
  • After a scoreless first half, Sela Kay went off for all of her game-high 18 points in the second half while Annie Boasberg kept Bowdoin afloat offensively early and ended with 16 points and ten boards. 
  • Megan Tan had 11 points, six rebounds and four assists as Bowdoin cashed 15 points off Williams turnovers in the victory.
