Women's Hoops Caps Perfect NESCAC Weekend With Win at Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team completed a weekend road sweep of NESCAC opponents in a 77-72 win at Middlebury on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears, who led by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter before a late Panther run, improve to 13-3 (3-1 NESCAC) while Middlebury falls to 7-6 (1-1 NESCAC). 

Game Highlights
  • The hot shooting of Sela Kay propelled Bowdoin to a halftime lead, 35-31, as Kay knocked down 6-9 shots and had 14 points to lead all players. 
  • The Polar Bears took command of the contest in the third quarter, shooting 66% from the field and outscoring the Panthers 23-11 to take a 58-42 edge into the final period.
  • Bowdoin still led by as many as 17 points with 5:27 to go before a late Panther surge closed the final gap to single-digits in the final moments of play. 
By The Numbers
  • Sela Kay had a game-high 26 points to go with six assists in the win while Annie Boasberg had her second-straight double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. 
  • Jess Giorgio tossed in ten points with nine rebounds while Jai Duval also contributed ten points in a balanced effort.
  • Bowdoin finished at 53% shooting for the game and held Middlebury to just 38% while owning a 39-28 edge in rebounding for the game.
