LEWISTON, Maine – The Bowdoin men's and women's swimming and diving teams finally returned to the competitive waters with a dual meet at Bates on Saturday afternoon.
 
The women edged Bates head-to-head by a score of 147-141. The men suffered a 173-114 setback to the Bobcats.
 
Women's Meet Highlights

• The Polar Bears opened the meet with a second place finish in the 200 medley relay. Ella Martin, Anna Roberts, Tatum Zupnik, and Ella Riccio combined for a time of 1:46.21.
• Zupnik, Kate Fosburgh, Martin, and Riccio combined to win the meet's final event, the 400 free relay, with a time of 3:33.60.
• Roberts won both the 100 breaststroke (1:06.34) and 200 IM (2:09.90).
• Riccio had a pair of top finishes in the 50 (24.05) and 100 (53.19) free.
• Zupnik touched the wall just after Riccio in the 100 free (53.49) and earned a top finish in the 100 fly (58.51).
• Sadie Smith won both diving events, earning 233.47 points on the 1 meter and 229.72 on the 3 meter.
• Multiple Polar Bears turned in second places finishes throughout the meet.

 
Men's Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin's meet opening relay team of Ted Mebust, Alex Grand'Pierre, Penn Lee, and Steve Ward finished second (1:33.74) in the 200 medley.
• Grand'Pierre had a strong day with top finishes in both the 100 (56.11) and 200 (2:05.85) breaststroke.
• Justin Yang won both the 200 backstroke (1:51.80) and 200 IM (1:54.62).
• Henry Isaacson secured top points on the 1 meter boards (234.01). Danny Calder competed in his first collegiate diving event to bolster points for Bowdoin and came away in second (180.84).
