Polar Bears Post Ten Goal Performance Against USM in Field Hockey

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin field hockey team cruised to a 10-0 win over USM on Thursday evening.
 
The Polar Bears pick up their fourth straight victory and improve to 6-2. The Huskies are 5-5 on the season.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin scored with under two minutes remaining in the first quarter to open up a 1-0 lead. Faith Jennings scored her first of the night off a deflection by Bailey Prete.
  • Jill Cloonan notched the game's second two minutes into the second quarter, sparking a three goal frame. Hanna Wurdack scored off a ball from Jennings and Beth Koeller deflected in a shot by Abby Bashaw.
  • Koeller repeated the fete seven minutes into the third, this time off a feed from Maya Malenfant. A minute later, Wurdack made it 6-0.
  • Jennings started the fourth quarter scoring and was followed a minute later by Sophia Rosati.
  • Caroline Higgins and Wurdack each added a goal in the final six minutes.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin held a 33-1 shot advantage and 12-1 corner edge.
  • Maddie Ferrucci made one save and played 45 minutes. Julia Arsenault played the final quarter.
  • Julianna Kiklis made 15 saves.
