Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Bantams Blank Field Hockey on Saturday Afternoon

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Trinity field hockey team pinned a 1-0 setback on host Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears (6-3, 2-3 NESCAC) had not suffered a shutout loss since a 1-0 game against Middlebury in September 2019. The Bantams climb to 7-1 (3-1 NESCAC).

Game Highlights
  • The Bantams had several strong scoring opportunities in the opening quarter. Caelin Flaherty intercepted a pass and earned an uncontested breakaway opportunity towards the circle. Bowdoin's Georgie Coezter recovered from further up field and broke up the play before Flaherty could direct a shot on net.
  • Flaherty saw a direct drive from the top, on a penalty corner, turned away as Maddie Ferrucci made a diving save on the ball.
  • Trinity did successfully convert on a penalty corner in the final minute of the second quarter. Katrina Winfield inserted the ball to Kylie Tierney at the top for a stick stop and Flaherty drove the ball on net.

  • Trinity held a 6-3 edge in shots and slight 4-3 corner advantage.
  • Ferrucci made four saves for the Polar Bears
  • Emma Cropper made two stops for the Bantams.
