Men's Soccer Suffers Another One-Goal Loss in Setback to Bates

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Owen Keleher headed home the game's only goal in the 78th minute to give the Bates College men's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Bowdoin on Tuesday afternoon. The Polar Bears fall to 4-3 (1-3 NESCAC) with the loss, their first to Bates (5-2, 2-1 NESCAC) since 1999.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin owned a slight 8-6 shot advantage in a back-and-forth first half, but neither team could find the back of the net.
  • After the Polar Bears pressured the Bobcats for the opening ten minutes of the second half, the Bobcats answered in transition in the 78th minute.
  • Bobby Dall delivered a perfect cross from the left wing to the center of the box, where Keleher headed the ball into the top right-corner for the game-winner.
  • Bowdoin applied pressure over the final ten minutes but couldn't find the equalizer.
