BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's basketball team dominated the second half of a 74-61 win over Colby on Sunday evening in Morrell Gymnasium.
The Polar Bears, who outscored the Mules 43-23 in the second half, improve to 6-2 while Colby falls to 5-3 on the season.
Game Highlights
- The Mules rode hot shooting in the early going to take a commanding 26-13 edge with eight minutes remaining in the opening stanza. Five three pointers fueled the surge, including two apiece from Matt Hanna and Noah Tyson.
- Bowdoin answered with a resounding 13-0 run in less than three minutes, sparked by a pair of Manav Randhawa trifectas as the Polar Bears knotted the score at 26 apiece on a Cole Hanin three with 5:24 to go.
- Colby closed the half on a 12-5 run, to open up a 38-31 edge at the break.
- Bowdoin began the second half on a 12-2 run to take their first lead of the game, 41-40, on a layup from Afamdi Achufusi 3:30 into the period.
- The teams traded the lead three times over the next ten minutes of play, and Bowdoin clung to a slim 61-60 edge following a Matt Hanna three-pointer with 4:30 to go.
- Michael Simonds answered immediately with a three-pointer for Bowdoin, keying a 13-1 game-ending run for the Polar Bears, as Bowdoin hit six late free throws to seal the victory.

- Bowdoin used a balance attack to take down the Mules, as five players reached double figures, led by 15 from Manav Randhawa, all coming on three-pointers.
- Afamdi Achufusi had a double-double with 11 points and ten boards while Michael Simonds finished with 13, Xander Werkman with 12, and Taiga Kagitomi with 11.
- Noah Tyson led all players with 20 points for Colby.
- Bowdoin finished at 40% shooting for the game and held Colby to just 35% while owning a key 34-14 advantage in bench scoring and 48-42 edge in rebounding.
