WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin women's hockey team handed Colby its first loss of the season in a 2-0 shutout in Waterville on Saturday evening.
The Polar Bears collect their first conference win of the year to climb to 3-3-0 (1-3-0 NESCAC). The victory snaps a six game winless streak for Bowdoin against the Mules (4-1-0, 3-1-0 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Dani Marquez made some key saves in the opening 20 minutes to keep the game tied 0-0, including a quick reaction stop on a shot by Bri Michaud-Nolan.
- Julia Surgenor handed the Mules their first deficit of the season with a laser into the net at 5:14 in the second period. Ali Dougal set up the Surgenor goal.
- Surgenor tallied an empty-netter in the final 31 seconds of the game to ice the Mules.
