BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's squash team came within a whisker of knocking off Brown in their 2021-22 debut Saturday afternoon at the Lubin Family Squash Center. The Bears took a slim 5-4 win over the Polar Bears, who enter their campaign ranked 19
th in the College Squash Association preseason rankings.
Match Highlights
- In their first match since February of 2020, the Polar Bears posted impressive results across the board.
- First-year Jack Winston, playing at number one in his collegiate debut, made his presence known immediately, recording an impressive 3-0 sweep (11-9, 11-5, 12-10).
- Henry Somerby won at number six, 3-0 (11-8, 11-7, 11-9), as did Carson Claar at number eight (11-5, 11-6, 11-6) and Abhi Reddy at number nine (11-8, 12-10, 12-10) to round out the Bowdoin points for the team score.
