BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team dominated the second half of a 67-45 victory over Worcester State University on the opening night of the Bowdoin Tip-Off Tournament at Morrell Gymnasium.
The Polar Bears improve to 4-0 on the season with the win while the Lancers fall to 2-3. Bowdoin will play in the title match of the Bowdoin Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. while Worcester State will play in the consolation game at 2:00 p.m.
Game Highlights
- Both teams shot 30% from the field in the opening half as the Polar Bears used a late push before the break to take a slim 23-22 edge into intermission.
- The Polar Bears clamped down in the third quarter, opening the period on a 14-2 run to take command. Bowdoin shot 66% in the quarter and carried a 42-33 lead into the fourth.
- Bowdoin continued to roll in the final stanza, pushing their lead to as many as 24 points on their way to the victory.

- The Polar Bears finished at 45% shooting for the game after connecting on 67% in the second half of the contest.
- Bowdoin was led by 15 points from Megan Tan, who also had three assists and three steals.
- Sela Kay returned to action for the first time this year and scored 11 points off the bench for the Polar Bears, who got 30 points from their reserves, including nine from Sydney Jones.
- Worcester State was led by 16 points from Gigi LeMay and actually out-rebounded Bowdoin 42-39 in the game.
