Men's Soccer Shut Out by Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Bowdoin men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 conference loss at Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.
 
The shutout put the Polar Bears at 6-4-0 (3-4-0 NESCAC) on the year. The win is the first of the season for Hamilton (4-6-1, 1-6-0 NESCAC) in NESCAC play.
 
Game Highlights
  • Xander Cardia had a promising shot for the Polar Bears with less than ten minutes remaining in the first half. Taking a turnaround shot from the right side of the box that skimmed its way wide.
  • The Continentals went up 1-0 ten minutes into the second half. Sam Webber crossed a shot from the right to the far post. Sam Dils headed the ball in on the left.
  • Charles Hawthorn doubled Hamilton's lead in the 75th minute, putting a bouncing ball past Chris Kingston as the pair met one-on-one.
 
By the Numbers
  • Hamilton held a slight 15-10 edge in shots, while Bowdoin held a 7-2 corner kick advantage.
  • Kingston made five saves. Hamilton's Ben Kiegler made one save.
