Bae Scores in Overtime to Hand Men's Soccer Win Over Colby

Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin went ahead early with a goal in the seventh minute of action. Drake Byrd deflected a ball towards the left side of the box, making a significant effort to keep the ball in bounds. Kai DiGrande came streaking across from the left side and connected with the ball, skipping a shot along the turf inside the near side post.
  • As the clock ticked off the final seconds of the half, Josh Rubin headed a ball just over the crossbar in Colby's most dangerous scoring threat of the opening frame.
  • Colby tied the game in the 66th minute. Josh Rubin tried to split a pair of defenders and saw a deflected shot skirt to the right post. Paul Hawkins crashed the post and quickly put the ball away.
  • With 15 minutes remaining, Bae got behind the defense with a breakaway. Brendan McCarthy met Bae at the top of the box to snuff out the play.
  • Bae provided the overtime heroics with the game-winner in the 95th minute. The senior lined up a corner kick and sent the ball into play. The defense and offense headed the ball back and forth in the box before it found its way out to Ryan Houseman who connected with Bae, still in the left corner. Bae beat a defender and fired a shot that skimmed across the turf and through the crowd before finding the back of the net.
