Women's Rugby Rolls Past Army's B-Side to Remain Unbeaten

Ella Slaby opened the scoring after 15 minutes of back-and-forth possession when the forwards forced a turnover and the ball went quickly down the backline. Slaby found space to weave through for the score, giving Bowdoin a 5-0 edge.
Molly Petronzio added to Bowdoin's lead with a try from inside 22 meters before the break, and then added the conversion kick to give the Polar Bears a 12-0 advantage at halftime.
Petronzio scored again from the wing at 8 minutes into the half, with a conversion as well, improving Bowdoin's lead to 19-0.
Rebecca Vakarau stole the ball from an Army player and out-sprinted the cover defense 70 meters for a try under the post to increase Bowdoin's lead even further.
Colleen Doucette and Ella Slaby finished the scoring with late trys for the Polar Bears, who posted their second shutout of the season.
Vakarau led the team with 15 tackles including a try-saving tackle from behind in the opening five minutes.
Ashlynn Autrey and Ella Slaby added 10 tackles each.
