BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College and Tufts University men's soccer teams played to a 1-1 deadlock in the final game of the regular season on Tuesday afternoon at Pickard Field. The Polar Bears (9-4-2, 4-4-2 NESCAC) and Jumbos (10-1-3, 6-1-3 NESCAC) will learn their seeding for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament following the conclusion of Tuesday evening's other league contests.

Match Highlights

  • A nice move by Ryan Houseman freed Alan Casey on the right side of the box. Casey ripped a low, curling shot through traffic that tucked inside the left post to give Bowdoin a 1-0 advatnage.
  • The lead didn't last long as Tufts found the equalizer moments later when Liam Gerken's individual effort created some space for Calvin Aroh, who blasted a hard shot to the top corner in the 43rd minute to make it 1-1 at intermission.
  • Neither team could find the game winner in the second half as Tufts owned a 10-1 advantage in shots.
  • Tufts' best overtime chance came in the first OT as Max Jacobs collected a loose ball behind the Bowdoin defense, but was stopped on a point-blank effort by Chris Kingston.
  • Immediately responding, Bowdoin worked the ball down field to Temi Agunloye, who drove a hard, low shot that was stopped by a diving Erik Lauta to secure the tie.
