Women's Soccer Secures NESCAC Win Against Bates

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's soccer team secured a 3-0 win over visiting Bates in Wednesday afternoon NESCAC action.
 
The Polar Bears improve to 8-5-1 (3-5-1 NESCAC), while dropping the Bobcats to 3-8-2 (1-7-0 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin got on the board in the 19th minute off the foot of Julia Adelmann. Adelmann worked the ball around a defender on the left side of the box and chipped a shot to the top right corner.
  • Five minutes later, Jade Cromwell doubled the Polar Bears' goal tally. Deep in the right corner Cromwell arched a shot over the goalie's head and into the net.
  • Bowdoin's third and final goal came as Jess Klein put a shot towards net from the midfield. A Bates defender misplayed the header and put the ball into the back of the their own net.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin held a 14-5 edge in shots and 7-1 corner kick advantage.
  • Penny Rocchio made four saves for the Polar Bears
  • Kat Nucklos made four saves in the first half. Chase Crawford made two saves in the second.
