Women's Rugby Remains Unbeaten With Blowout of Colby

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's rugby team cruised to a 55-7 Homecoming Saturday win over Colby to remain unbeaten this fall. With the win, the Polar Bears improved to 4-0 this fall.

Match Highlights

The forwards dominated with tackles and solid rucks, consistently breaking the gainline and providing ample possession in the first half.
The backline, anchored by Jenna Clukey and Catherine Patti passed the ball well, feeding Colleen Doucette, Ella Slaby and Rebecca Vakarau who assisted on multiple scores by the two wingers Ella Garnett and Molly Petronzio.
Petronzio scored six tries and four conversion kicks to dominate the first half with Doucette, Lucy Noel and Garnett adding a try apiece. Jenna Clukey slotted a conversion as well.
Co-captain Clukey led the way with 15 tackles, followed by her fellow co-captain Ashlynn Autrey and Rebecca Vakarau with 10 each.

Up Next

Bowdoin will enjoy a bye weekend next week before heading to Vassar College for a noon match on October 16.
