Men's Soccer Topples Camels 3-1

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's soccer team knocked off NESCAC leading Connecticut College 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears are 7-4-1 (4-4-1 NESCAC) on the season, while the Camels sit at 8-3-0 (6-2-0 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Minseo Bae gave Bowdoin an early lead, scoring in the 11th minute. Charlie Ward chipped a pass through to Bae just outside the 18-yard box. Bae was able to suck Samuel Maidenberg into poor position and put the ball away.
  • An own-goal by the Polar Bears in the 19th minute evened the game at 1-1.
  • In the 54th minute Charlie Ward earned a one-on-one with the goalie and fired a shot towards net that was denied by Maidenberg. The rebound kicked out to Julian Juantorena who buried the open net shot to regain the lead.
  • The Polar Bears gave themselves some breathing room with a third goal in the final five minutes. Drake Byrd drew the goalie and crossed the ball to Everett Horch who converted on the clean look at net.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin held a 10-8 edge in shots, while the Camels had a 3-1 corner kick advantage.
  • Maidenberg made three stoops.
  • Chris Kingston made a pair of saves.
