Jennings Tallies A Hattrick as Field Hockey Cruises Past Camels

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Faith Jennings put together an opening half hattrick as the Bowdoin field hockey team cruised to a 6-0 win over Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 10-3 (6-3 NESCAC), while the Camels slip to 1-10 (0-8 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Jennings scored twice within two minutes, with her first coming 12:36 into play. Jennings battled at the goalie's pads to put the ball in the cage. Her second goal came off a deep feed from Sophia Rosati and a carry down the left side. Jennings zipped the ball to the far corner.
  • Two minutes into the second quarter, Jennings made it a hattrick by again working off the pads.
  • Jill Cloonan added a goal two minutes into the third quarter and Claudia Kriz had a perfect touch on a Georgie Coetzer drive coming in from the 25 to make it 5-0.
  • Bailey Prete capped the game with a goal in the final five minutes.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin allowed just one shot and took 24.
  • The Polar Bears had a 12-6 edge in penalty corners. Jackie Mountford made 13 stops.
  • Maddie Ferrucci started the game for Bowdoin. Julia Arsenault played the final nine minutes and stopped one shot.
