WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Bowdoin women's soccer team scored a goal in each half to top Williams 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
The Polar Bears are 7-4-1 (2-4-1 NESCAC) and defeated the Ephs (3-7-1-, 1-6-1 NESCAC) for the second time in as many games. Bowdoin defeated Williams 2-1 in 2019, snapping an 18 game winless streak against the Ephs.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute. Lynn Farquhar took a shot and the subsequent play fell to the feet of Julia Adelmann. Adelmann floated a shot just beyond the reach of the Williams goalie.
- Williams answered two minutes later. Blakeley Buckingham sent a cross to the opposite post for Mikayla Kappes to score with a header.
- Adelmann scored the game winner 20 minutes into the second half. Morgan Smiley fed Adelmann for a blast to the left corner.
- Penny Rocchio made a diving save on a ball by Tori Huang to keep the Polar Bears ahead.

- Williams held a 14-5 edge in shots, but both teams earned three corner kicks.
- Chelsea Taylor made a pair of stops for Williams.
- Alex Arndt made three stops in the first half. Rocchio made four in the second frame.
