CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Bowdoin College men's squash team finished its season 22nd in the country in the Summers Cup Division of the College Squash National Championship last weekend.
The Polar Bears finish their year with a record of 11-10, ending the season with its first winning record since 2012-13. After being eliminated from the top bracket with a loss to Navy Friday, Bowdoin rebounded to defeat Amherst 5-4 before losing to Colby in the consolation final, 5-4.
Weekend Highlights
- 3-0 sweeps by Drew Clark and Adham Sobhy helped lead Bowdoin past Amherst.
- Tyler Shonrock and Carson Claar secured 3-1 decisions, while Gannon Leech won the tightest match of the day, taking a 3-2 (11-7,7-11,11-6,10-12,11-5) win.
- In the match against Colby, Clark, Claar and Sobhy won their second matches in as many days while Ishaan George rallied for a 3-1 win.
- Bowdoin lost a pair of 3-2 matches at the top of the ladder, however, as Colby came away with the win.
