CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Bowdoin College men's squash team was edged, 5-4, by Navy in the opening round of the College Squash Association National Tournament late Friday evening at Harvard.
The Polar Bears (10-9) fall to the consolation bracket of Summers Cup Division where they will play Amherst on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m.
Match Highlights
- The seventh-seeded Polar Bears dominated the bottom of the ladder but couldn't find a fifth win in their hopes to upset the second-seeded Midshipmen.
- Carson Claar, Drew Clark and Ishaan George took impressive 3-0 wins to spearhead the Bowdoin effort at the number five, eight and nine spots, respectively.
- Henry Somerby accounted for the other Polar Bear win, winning a thrilling 3-2 (7-11, 11-9, 12-10, 6-11, 11-7) victory at number seven.
