Four Different Players Score in 4-2 Field Hockey Win at Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. – Four different players scored in Bowdoin field hockey's 4-2 win over host Trinity on Saturday afternoon.

The seventh-ranked Polar Bears (7-1, 4-1 NESCAC) took a 4-1 lead into halftime against the Bantams (4-3, 0-3 NESCAC).

Game Highlights

  • Elizabeth Growney gave the Polar Bears an early lead, scoring just 2:47 into the game, putting away a rebound off an initial shot from Emma Stevens.
  • Bowdoin scored on its first corner of the game. Elle Brine inserted to Manveer Sandhu at the top of the circle for a blast past the goalie.
  • Trinity cut its deficit in half with a goal 2:14 into the second quarter. A series of shots peppered Bowdoin's Maddie Ferrucci before Caelin Flaherty finally finished off a rebound.
  • The Polar Bears responded five minutes later. Another Bowdoin corner set up a rebound opportunity for Georgie Coetzer
  • Bowdoin's final goal came with under three minutes remaining in the second quarter as Kara Finnerty set up Emma Stevens.
  • The game's final goal came early in the third quarter off the stick of Trinity's Caroline Curtin.
