Bowdoin Swimming and Diving Continues Strong Nationals Showing

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sterling Dixon continued her stellar performance at the NCAA Nationals with another school record and second place finish.

Meet Highlights

  • On the third night of the 2019 NCAA Championships senior Sterling Dixon set another school record. After touching in 2:02.47 in the 200 fly prelims, Dixon returned to finals as the top seed. At night she used a strong back half to touch second overall in a 2:01.23. That time lowered her own school record of 2:02.07 and scored 17 more points for the Polar Bears.
  • In the 800 freestyle relay Karl Sarier (1:39.36), Andrew Macdonald (1:42.20), Ted Mebust (1:43.42), and Julian Abaldo (1:43.01) combined for a 6:47.99. They finished 14th in the event, earning All-America Honorable Mention honors. Their time destroyed the school record, a 6:51.22, set at this year's NESCAC Championship. 
  • Junior Marshall Lowery swam the 100 backstroke on Friday morning, touching 31st in 57.55. 
  • First-year Mebust raced to a 19th place 100 backstroke, touching in 49.87, just .07 off his own school record.
