MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin men's swimming and diving team sits in fourth following heading to the final day of the NESCAC Championships.

At the end of Saturday night Bowdoin sits in fourth with 697.5 points, with Colby (645), Bates (623), and Conn (603.5) lined up behind. 

Game Highlights

• Bowdoin began Saturday night with another school record. The team of Ted Mebust, Michael Tirone, Julian Abaldo, and Michael O'Neal raced to an NCAA B cut time of 1:31.07 to take fourth in the 200 freestyle relay, knocking a massive 1.68 seconds off the old school mark. Mebust led off in a 22.55 backstroke split, lowering his own school record set yesterday. 
• The B relay of Justin Yang, Stephen Pastoriza, Jacob Baltaytis, and Cameron Chertavian were fifth among the Bs and 16th overall in 1:34.57.
• The Polar Bears had a strong showing in the 400 IM. Senior Pastoriza was eighth overall in 4:03.80. Chertavian touched 15th with a 4:07.42 and junior Jean-Baptiste Andre (4:13.37) and first-year Atticus Kangas (4:13.66) finished 21st and 22nd. 
• Abaldo finished ninth in the 100 butterfly with a 50.11, ahead of Baltaytis in 12th with a 50.78.
• Senior Karl Sarier raced to a third place finish in the 200 freestyle in 1:39.75. Juniors Drew Macdonald (1:43.16) and Killian Dickson (1:45.31) finished 18th and 24th. 
• Senior Daniel Williams finished 10th in the 1000 (9:38.33) ahead of Coleman Komishane (9:44.19) in 13th and Gabriel Siwady (9:50.81) in 17th.​ 
• Tirone touched 13th in the 100 breaststroke in 57.46. Mebust finished eighth in the 100 backstroke with a 50.46 while classmate Justin Yang was 16th in 53.33. In prelims of the 100 backstroke Mebust got to the wall in 49.80, setting a new team record, lowering the mark he set last night.
