Polar Bears Stumble in Non-Conference Action at USM

GORHAM, Maine – The Bowdoin women's hockey team closed out the semester with a 2-0 loss to USM on Tuesday evening.

The Polar Bears head to 2020 with a 4-3-1 overall record. The Huskies are 4-7.

Game Highlights

  • Despite spending the majority of the first period pinned in their own defensive zone, the Huskies took a 1-0 lead midway through the frame. Rylie Binette flipped the puck over Dani Marquez from close range for the goal.
  • The Polar Bears killed off three penalties in the second period, but were unable to sustain the offensive pressure from the first as a result.
  • Jordan Colbert scored an empty-netter in the final ten seconds of regulation to seal the win.

By the Numbers

  • Marquez ended the day with 16 saves.
  • Whitney Padgett made 25 saves for the shutout.
