Men's Soccer Earns Fifth Seed For NESCACs, Heads to Amherst Saturday

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's soccer team will travel to Amherst for the quarterfinal round of the 2018 NESCAC Championship Sunday.

The Polar Bears will be the fifth seed for the championship and will head to fourth-seeded Amherst at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The game will be carried live on the Northeast Sports Network.

The Polar Bears (9-4-2, 5-3-2) own two NESCAC titles, winning them in back-to-back years in 2014 and 2015. Bowdoin is seeking its sixth straight trip to the semifinals. Heading into the tournament, the Polar Bears are 5-1-2 in the month of October.

Amherst owns a 4-2-1 advantage in the NESCAC Championship series, but Bowdoin claimed the lone meeting in the NESCAC title match – claiming a penalty kick win at Amherst in 2014. This season, Amherst defeated the Polar Bears, 1-0, in the second game of the season at Bowdoin.
