GORHAM, Maine – The Bowdoin softball team mounted a seventh inning rally to keep its win streak alive with a 6-4 victory at Southern Maine on Thursday night.

The Polar Bears improve to 18-6 with their seventh straight win. The Huskies fall below .500 at 8-9.

Game Highlights

• Bowdoin jumped out early in the top of the first as Marisa O'Toole drove in Emily Griffin with a single through the right side.
• The Huskies responded in the bottom half of the inning to take a 3-1 lead. Mary Caron tagged an RBI double to left center and Shelby Obert blasted a two-run shot over the right field fence.
• Bowdoin took the lead again in the sixth, on a pair of RBI singles from Lauren Nguyen and Griffin as well as a chip from Jordan Gowdy.
• Caron tied the game in the bottom of the inning for Southern Maine, doubling down the right field line and driving in a run.
• Ali Miller put the ball in play in the top of the seventh, allowing Allison Rutz to score, and Griffin tagged an RBI single, to give the Polar Bears a 6-4 victory.

By the Numbers

• Griffin went all seven innings in the circle with eight strikeouts. The senior allowed eight hits and walked four batters.
• Griffin went 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of RBI. O'Toole went 2-for-3 with an RBI and walked twice.
• Samantha Valdivia was the lone Polar Bear to collect an extra base hit, with a double.
