BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's rugby team scored a season-high in points en route to a 67-21 Homecoming Saturday victory against previously unbeaten Colby.

The Polar Bears improve to 4-1 this season with the victory.

Match Highlights

• Bowdoin opened up a commanding 38-7 lead in the first half to take control of the match.
• Liz D'Angelo opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a kick ahead to space, and won the footrace to the end zone to score the try.  
• Allegra Bersani followed with a slicing move up the left side after fielding a kick, and sidestepped her tackles to touch it down.  Conversion by Kendall Schutzer.  Colby came back with a converted try of their own, keeping the score close at 12 - 7 with 20 minutes to play in the first half. 
• Bowdoin scored 26 points to end the period, though, as Satya Kent used a #8 pick up to find space and sprint 30 meters for another 5 points, with D'Angelo notching the conversion. Taylor Yoder, Bersani and Maddie Squibb added tries with two more conversions by Schutzer and D'Angelo.
• Colby opened the second half with a penalty try, closing the gap to 38 - 14, but Bowdoin would not let the Mules climb any closer. Second half scoring for the Polar Bears came from: Mackenzie Philbrick (two), Bersani (her third), scrumhalf Kendall Schutzer'18 and D'Angelo (her second). 
• Two more conversion kicks were notched, one each from D'Angelo and Schutzer to arrive at the final score of 67 - 21.
