Men's Squash Opens 2017 With Pair Of Road Losses to Top-20 Teams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's squash team suffered a pair of road losses to top-20 teams this weekend to open their post-break schedule.

The Polar Bears dropped a 9-0 decision to 19th-ranked Williams before falling 8-1 to 15th-ranked Middlebury. Bowdoin (0-5) is currently ranked 28th in the latest College Squash Association rankings.

Weekend Highlights

  • Ian Squiers and Sebastian Kim both lost hard-fought matches against the Ephs on Friday evening. Squiers fell 3-2 (10-12,11-9,11-9,4-11,11-5) while Kim also suffered a 3-2 setback (12-14,8-11,11-7,11-5,11-8).
  • Ben Bristol and George Cooley each took 3-1 losses against Williams.
  • Bristol accounted for the Bowdoin victory against Middlebury, claiming an excellent 3-2 (12-10,11-6,6-11,7-11,11-7) win.

  • Bowdoin will return to action on Wednesday at home against Wesleyan at 1:00 p.m.
