Divers Set New Program Records Across All Boards

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Four program records fell on Thursday afternoon as Mitchell Ryan and Christine Andersen set new six dive marks in both the 1 and 3 meter diving events.

The Bowdoin divers competed against athletes from UW-Green Bay, Rowan, Trinity Texas, and George Mason University in a six dive meet during their winter training trip.

On the men's side, Ryan set program records with 342.60 in the 3-meter (second place) and 337.45 in the 1-meter (third place). Eriq Byrne also turned scores of 228.95 on the lower board and 202.15 on the 3-meter. 

Andersen paced the women with 278.95 (second place) in the 1-meter and a 302.55 for first in the 3-meter. Both results set new program records.  Thea Kelsey finished right behind Andersen in the 1-meter with a 268.80 combined score. Kelsey turned in a 266.10 in the 3-meter. Rebecca Stern edged Kelsey in the 3-meter with a 277.40 and finished sixth overall in the 1-meter (255.60).  All three divers received their first Regionals qualifying scores on both boards.
